IOGA (Idaho Outfitters and Guides Association) will have a booth there and we will have on hand for visitors a new 2014 IOGA directory as well as IDFG (Idaho Fish and Game) sheep, goat and moose regulations along with general hunting information regulation booklets. Stop by the IOGA booth, number 567, and pick up your directory of all things Idaho outfitted outdoors including rafting, jet boat, hunting, fishing, trail riding, lodges, camping and hiking. We will be happy to visit with you about your ideal Idaho outfitted outdoor adventure for 2014. You have heard me talk about how wonderful Idaho is to hunt, if you want more detailed info and you find yourself in Reno that weekend, be sure to stop by the Idaho Outfitters and Guides (IOGA) booth and lets talk Idaho hunting and fishing. We will be Attending the Missouri Deer Classic Show Next month we are heading to Columbia, Missouri to attend the Missouri Deer Classic. We will be heading to Missouri March 15 and 16 and will be talking Idaho and Utah deer, elk and bear hunting at the show. We do hope if you are in the area of Columbia,you will stop by booth number 024 and visit with us about hunting out west. 2010 Idaho Hunting Season Comes to a Close Hunting season in Idaho’s backcountry unit 27 comes to an official close on November 18 and this year the snow began to roll in about then. So after 2 days of packing out camp it was time to chain up and haul livestock over the pass to winter quarters and begin the drying out of tents, tack and equipment. Riding in to pack camp after the last hunter leaves is always sort of a bitter sweet journey. It Is Show Season Again! Heading towards spring each year can only mean 1 thing, it is show season again! We are attending 2 shows this year. The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Show in Las Vegas, NV from Feb 28 to March 3 and the the Salt Lake ISE show March 14-17. April is the Time to Apply for Trophy Species Bighorn Sheep, Moose and Mountain Goat Beginning April 1 you can apply for what Idaho terms as “trophy species” including bighorn sheep, mountain goat and moose. As much as I disdain having to draw for any hunting opportunity, these 3 species are rare enough that it is impossible to maintain a healthy herd AND offer an over the counter opportunity, so they regulate through a drawing process. The beauty, and yes I did say beauty, of Idaho’s draw...... Show Season Is Over. Time to Get Serious Well “show season” has drawn to a close and we are grateful to have been able to see some old friends and to meet some new ones, and truly grateful for those who booked a 2013 hunt with us.
